Teen Programs

ArtReach Teen Programs provide hands-on visual arts workshops for youth at middle/high schools and community centers. The workshops range from large-scale, site-specific Mural Programs (learn about the ArtReach Mural Program) to Artist Residencies in which a series of art workshops are taught by a Teaching Artist.

In a Teen Program Residency, Teaching Artists guide youth through a series of lessons using relevant contemporary and local artists as an inspiration point. This allows young people who are developing their own voice and art skills to gain confidence and find connections to local artists.  While providing instruction, ArtReach delivers workshops with the intention to support social-emotional well-being for teens. Collaboration, community, and ties to art history and local working artists are the pillars of our Teen Program. Ultimately, we provide workshops for teens to have crucial connections with their peers and to themselves through encouraged and low-pressure creative expression.
