Supporting Young Artists: ArtReach’s ‘Art. Is. Good.’ Charity Auction Makes Impact Accessible

JULY 31, 2025

ArtReach’s Art. Is. Good. Charity Auction is happening right now, and it’s one of those events that makes supporting local causes feel genuinely rewarding.

This San Diego Foundation ArtWalk – Liberty Station partnership brings together community support for youth arts education in a way that’s both meaningful and accessible—whether you’re bidding online or exploring the auction in person.

Why This Auction Matters

ArtReach tackles something we don’t always think about but definitely should—the lack of accessible, high-quality arts education for kids across San Diego County. Their mission is simple but powerful: ensuring every child gets the chance to express themselves through art, regardless of their zip code or family’s financial situation.

The organization serves thousands of K-12 students each year through free and low-cost programs in schools and community sites.

What’s Up for Grabs

The auction lineup is genuinely impressive and diverse. We’re talking about original art pieces, vacation stays, an e-bike, spa packages, and curated gift baskets—all donated by local artists and businesses who believe in the power of creativity for young people.

These aren’t just random items thrown together; they’re thoughtfully curated experiences and products that reflect our community’s creative spirit.

The mix of high-value items and accessible raffle options means there’s something for every budget level, which feels very much in line with ArtReach’s inclusive mission.

Two Ways to Get Involved

The online component runs through August 7, so you can browse and bid from anywhere. But there’s something special about experiencing the auction in person during ArtWalk Liberty Station.

The student art sale adds another layer of connection—seeing the work these programs produce makes the impact feel immediate and tangible.

At the ArtReach booth, you can meet the team behind these programs, purchase raffle tickets, and get a real sense of how your participation translates into opportunities for local kids. There’s also a ticketed preview party on Friday evening for those who want a more intimate auction experience.

The Bigger Picture

Every dollar raised goes directly toward free visual arts education programs, which is the kind of direct impact that makes participating feel worthwhile.

In a time when arts programs are often the first to get cut from school budgets, organizations like ArtReach become essential for ensuring creative expression remains accessible to all kids.

See you there, San Diego!

ArtReach’s Art. Is. Good. Charity Auction and San Diego Foundation ArtWalk Liberty Station prove that supporting youth creativity can be both impactful and enjoyable.
