From November 1 through December 15, 2025, you can help ignite creativity in San Diego youth by donating a book during the Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive at Barnes & Noble Hazard Center. Every book you give supports ArtReach San Diego, helping bring the power of art and storytelling to young artists across our community!
How to Get Involved
- Visit Barnes & Noble Hazard Center at 7610 Hazard Center Dr., Ste. 315, San Diego, CA.
- Choose from our wishlist of books in-store to purchase and donate at checkout.
- Your donated book will go directly to ArtReach San Diego to inspire creativity and learning through art programs for local youth.

The Impact of Your Book Donation
The books you donate directly support ArtReach’s mission of igniting youth creativity by fostering imagination, emotional growth, and artistic inspiration. These books not only connect to Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) by helping students explore feelings, empathy, and storytelling, but they also provide a calming and reflective activity in our studio spaces—offering young artists a gentle way to regulate emotions before or after artmaking.
Many of the books feature themes, stories, and illustrators that align with our curriculum, sparking creative connections between literature and visual art. Through this thoughtful integration, each donated book becomes more than a story—it becomes a bridge between literacy, emotional wellness, and artistic expression.
About the Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive
The Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive is an annual nationwide program that invites customers to donate books to local nonprofits serving people in need. Last year, over 500 charitable organizations benefited from the campaign, spreading the joy of reading and learning across the country.
This year, the San Diego Hazard Center Barnes & Noble has selected ArtReach San Diego as its local beneficiary, uniting books and art to empower youth creativity in our community.
About ArtReach San Diego
ArtReach San Diego is a local nonprofit expanding access to visual arts education for youth, especially those from under-resourced schools and communities. Through free and low-cost programs, ArtReach ensures equitable access to transformative art experiences that build creativity, confidence, and community.
