ARTREACH TURNS 18!

OCTOBER 26, 2025

To celebrate, we wanted to share a thoughtful message from Sarah Holbach, ArtReach’s Executive Director:

When I joined ArtReach 12 years ago, we were a small team with a big dream: to make sure every young person in San Diego could experience the joy and connection that come from creating art.

Eighteen years in, that dream is alive and thriving. This year alone, our teaching artists have worked in more than 90 schools across San Diego County, helping students express themselves, build confidence, and find moments of joy and reflection through art. Our mural program continues to transform neighborhoods, adding color, pride, and community to school campuses and public spaces. And in our Hillcrest studios, toddlers, kids, and families gather each week to make art, play, and create meaningful connections across generations.

I’m endlessly proud of what our team has built and grateful to live and work in a city that values creativity as a force for good. Every class, every mural, every moment of discovery adds up to something bigger: a more beautiful, connected San Diego.

If you’d like to celebrate with us, consider a birthday gift in honor of our 18th year – $18, $180, or $1,800 – to help keep art accessible to all.

Here’s to 18 years of creating together, and to everyone who’s helped make it possible!” 💛
