Brooke has been a dedicated member of ArtReach since 2015, beginning her journey as a Teaching Artist. Her firsthand experience in that role deeply informs her current work, fueling her commitment to empowering young artists and school communities throughout San Diego County.
Growing up in a small town with limited access to arts education, Brooke witnessed the creative opportunities she and her peers missed. This experience ignited a lifelong passion for making the arts more accessible. Originally a theatre kid turned visual artist and art historian, she earned her B.A. in Art History from Humboldt State University in 2011 and quickly realized that arts education was her calling.
Brooke is passionate about providing students with creative experiences that help them tap into their artistic potential. She designs programs that allow students to connect with historical, contemporary, and local artists whose work and stories resonate with their own identities and lived experiences. Her favorite reaction from students as they create is: “It’s like magic!”
Outside of her work, Brooke enjoys tap dancing, roller skating, and doting on her beloved cat, Little Edie.
