Krystina Grammatica

Studio Teaching Artist
she/her

Krystina Grammatica is a Brooklyn born creative powerhouse bringing the spark of artistic expression to San Diego since ’98. She is the face behind Grammatique designs, making one of a kind jewelry, adornments and wearable art, with a knack for upcycling textiles and clothing along with repurposing various unusual and found items such as scrap leather, bones, broken record vinyl, and more. When she’s not making things at her home studio you might find her selling her wears at various pop ups and art events, performing Samba, frolicking in nature, taking photos or just hanging in the garden with her sweet kitty Chaichai.

Krystina got started as a teaching artist in 2001 with Young Audiences, teaching dance to young students at various schools throughout SD. Her creative journey also brought her into circus arts for several years where she got to combine her love for dance, silliness, and costuming, performing with Technomania Circus, Lindly Lopez Circus and even an opening ground acrobatic act for a Ringling Circus show here in SD. In 2004 she became part of the Museum School where she created and implemented a K-6 Textile Arts and Sewing program and a few years later the 3rd-8th grade Drama program, staging and costuming plays with students every six weeks, ranging from modern plays to Shakespeare.

Krystina strives to create an inclusive environment where students can explore their emotions, imagination and connection to their world and others around them. Her biggest joy is to see students and adults find their artistic voice through self exploration making them shine as their most authentic expression.
