Sierra is a passionate arts educator, curriculum designer, teaching artist, and lifelong San Diegan who believes in the power of creativity to build community and foster self-expression. As Education Resource Manager at ArtReach, she develops culturally responsive, inclusive curriculum and also works directly with students as a Teaching Artist, ensuring every project is engaging, meaningful, and empowering.
Before entering the education field, Sierra worked in corporate retail training and development, where she discovered her love for teaching. This led her to earn a BFA in Art Education from the Academy of Art University in 2018 and a Teaching Credential in Art from San Diego State University in 2019.
Her background, combined with a strong commitment to equity, brought her to ArtReach, where she ensures that lessons reflect the diverse voices and experiences of the youth they serve. Whether designing curriculum or teaching in the classroom, Sierra is dedicated to making arts education accessible and transformative.
Outside of ArtReach, Sierra—also known by her artist name, Stardust Coyote—maintains a personal practice in collage, experimental painting, and visual storytelling. She also leads community workshops in art journaling, intuitive art practices, and SoulCollage®, helping others connect with their creativity. You can find more information about her art practice and workshop schedule here.
In her free time, Sierra enjoys reading, cooking with her husband Christian, and taking scenic walks around her San Diego neighborhood. Her deep roots in the community and love for this city fuel her ongoing dedication to ArtReach’s mission of bringing equitable arts education to all youth.
