Recently, ArtReach San Diego partnered with Wakeland Housing and the Serenade on 43rd development team to bring community-centered public art to the new affordable housing campus in City Heights. Through a collaborative mural program, our artists worked alongside residents and neighbors to design and paint three large exterior murals, as well as a series of smaller musical motifs inspired by Tom Waits’ “San Diego Serenade.” The project adds vibrant, welcoming visuals that reflect the spirit of the neighborhood and help create a sense of home for new residents.
