ArtReach Announces “Golden Hour: Made in SD”, A Youth Art Showcase in San Diego

Join ArtReach for a Celebration of Youth Art in San Diego

San Diego, CA — ArtReach, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing youth creativity through visual arts education, has officially announced Golden Hour: Made in SD, an immersive student art showcase and community event taking place on May 7 from 5–7 PM at its Hillcrest studio.

This highly anticipated annual event highlights the creativity of young artists from across San Diego while bringing together community members, supporters, and local art enthusiasts for an evening of interactive art, music, and connection.

Golden Hour: Made in SD centers youth voices and artistic expression through a series of immersive installations created from student artwork. Attendees will experience:

  • Interactive art installations built from youth-created pieces
  • A newly unveiled mural
  • The debut of ArtReach’s transformed backlot space
  • Live music and a vibrant, community-centered atmosphere

Supporting Creative Youth Through Community Events

Events like Golden Hour play a critical role in sustaining ArtReach’s programming, which serves thousands of students each year through in-school residencies, community workshops, and public art initiatives.

Golden Hour is designed not only as a fundraiser, but also as an open invitation for the community to witness the impact of arts education firsthand.

“Young artists from across our programs take center stage,” the organization shared in its announcement, emphasizing the importance of creating platforms where youth creativity is recognized and celebrated.

Early Bird tickets are currently available through April 3 and include a complimentary drink along with full access to all installations and programming throughout the evening.

Youth ages 17 and under attend free, reinforcing ArtReach’s commitment to accessibility and community inclusion. Community members are encouraged to attend with friends, explore the Hillcrest neighborhood, and experience the growing creative hub that ArtReach has cultivated!
