ArtReach Set to Participate in San Diego Gives on September 17, 2026

September 3, 2026

Join us for San Diego Gives on Thursday, September 17th, as we bring our community together to celebrate generosity and support local nonprofits. We’re inviting our ArtReach community to protect access to high-quality visual arts experiences for young people and families across San Diego County.

This past year, ArtReach served more than 15,000 students, creating opportunities for young people to explore creativity, build confidence, develop new skills, and find their voice through the arts. But our work is facing a growing challenge.

ArtReach is experiencing nearly $50,000 in reduced public arts funding.

These losses reflect a broader reduction in public investment in the arts at both the state and local levels. At the same time, the need for accessible, meaningful arts experiences continues to grow.

For many young people, ArtReach provides opportunities they may not otherwise have: opportunities to explore their creativity, build confidence, develop new skills, and discover new ways of expressing themselves. Over 90 community sites throughout San Diego County rely on ArtReach to make these experiences accessible.

Without replacement funding, cuts like these put that access at risk.

That’s where you come in.

Will you help us reach our $10,000 goal?

Your gift allows ArtReach to respond to this critical funding gap and continue providing meaningful, high-quality visual arts experiences for more than 15,000 young people each year.

Your generosity helps us bring art directly into schools and communities that need it most. It supports collaborative murals in public spaces that center young people’s ideas, strengthens community connection, and creates something lasting that students can feel proud to have shaped. It helps ensure that cuts to public funding do not take away these opportunities for students to create, contribute, and feel a lasting sense of pride and belonging.

In a year when public funding is shrinking, community support matters more than ever.

Other ways to support ArtReach:

  • Give Monthly: Become a monthly donor to provide reliable, ongoing support for youth arts education throughout the year.
  • Follow Along: Follow ArtReach on social media @artreachsd to amplify our message using #SDGivesDay and #ArtReachGives.
  • Spread the Word: Share a story about how art has impacted your life or the life of a young artist.

Together, we can create more opportunities for young people to discover what they’re capable of through art.

For more information on how to get involved, contact Anna Katzif Laroque, Advancement Manager at anna@artreachsandiego.org.
