ArtReach Wins Best Of San Diego 2026

ArtReach Wins Best Art Classes for Kids and Best Day Camp in San Diego Magazine’s Best of 2026

August 6, 2026

We are thrilled to announce that ArtReach has been voted Best Art Classes for Kids and Best Day Camp in San Diego Magazine’s Best of 2026 issue. This marks our second consecutive year receiving both honors, and we are incredibly grateful for the recognition from our community!

From Summer Camps and After-School Art Classes at our Hillcrest studio to Free Family Workshops and Drop-In Play, ArtReach is proud to provide creative opportunities for children and families throughout San Diego. Beyond our studio walls, our Residency Program and Mural Team bring hands-on visual arts education directly to schools and community spaces across the county.

Each year, ArtReach serves more than 14,000 youth through free and low-cost visual arts programs designed to inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster self-expression. These awards reflect the dedication of our teaching artists, staff, volunteers, and supporters who make this work possible!

Thank you to everyone who voted, joined an art class, attended camp, painted a mural, or cheered us on at community events. Your support fuels our mission to make art accessible for every young person in San Diego, and we are honored to continue creating alongside this incredible community.

Josué Baltézar Wins Best Muralist!

We’re also excited to celebrate one of ArtReach’s Mural Artist Partners, Josué Baltezar, who was named Best Muralist in San Diego Magazine’s Best of 2026 issue. An illustrator, muralist, and printmaker, Josué has partnered with ArtReach for several years to create vibrant, meaningful murals at schools and community sites across San Diego, leading collaborative projects that empower young artists and strengthen communities.

Reflecting on the award, Josué shared, “A very special thank you goes to ArtReach, who I partner with on many of my large-scale murals. They are the best team to work with, and without them I would not be the muralist I am today.” We’re honored to celebrate this recognition alongside an artist whose work continues to inspire creativity across San Diego!

Be sure to pick up the August issue of San Diego Magazine to see ArtReach featured in the Best of 2026 awards. Here’s to another year of creativity, connection, and making art possible for every child!
