ArtReach San Diego’s After School Art Classes provide students with an inspiring, professional studio experience. Voted Best Art Classes for Kids in San Diego Magazine’s Best of 2026, our 6-week programs are designed to cultivate creative confidence, social-emotional growth, and technical skill through hands-on projects led by practicing artists.
Fall 2026: October 26 – December 7
Monday at 4:30 PM
Sewing 1
- Practice hand-sewing techniques, basic stitches, and learn safe machine operation.
- Develop project planning skills, from sketching ideas to finished product.
- Create functional and decorative items (pouches, pillows, small accessories).
Tuesday at 12:00 PM
Afternoon Homeschool
- Explore a variety of art mediums and creative techniques.
- Learn about contemporary artists and diverse cultures from around the world.
- Build technical art skills while developing social-emotional learning.
Tuesday at 4:30 PM
Fashion Design
- Learn the basics of fashion design and creative garment construction.
- Transform old or outgrown clothing into fresh, original pieces through upcycling.
- Explore sustainable design practices and learn how fashion can be kinder to the planet.
Wednesday at 4:30 PM
Sewing 2
- Build on beginning sewing skills using both hand-sewing techniques and the sewing machine to reach an intermediate level
- Learn more advanced machine navigation and troubleshooting for more technical projects.
- Design and create more custom pieces geared towards grades 4-6.
Thursday at 4:30 PM
Clay
- Explore the fundamentals of 3D design while working hands-on with clay.
- Learn pinch, coil, and slab building techniques.
- Practice problem-solving, fine motor development, and confidence through experimentation.
