This vibrant mural at the Fashion Valley Mall play area celebrates San Diego’s natural beauty and community spirit. Designed by lead artist Esteban Sánchez, it showcases towering palm trees, a hovering hummingbird, a playful sea lion, fluttering monarch butterflies, and a burst of vivid flowers. The design breathes warmth and energy into the space, creating an inviting atmosphere for the children that enjoy it every day.

More than 50 community members contributed to the mural during a community paint day, making this mural a true reflection of collective creativity. Its dynamic colors and flowing composition evoke movement and connection, transforming the play area into a joyful, nature-inspired retreat within the bustling mall.
