Angela Russell joined ArtReach as a Teaching Artist in 2022, bringing a background in visual arts and a strong belief in the power of creativity to build confidence in young people. In 2024, she became the Residency Program Coordinator and now helps make sure ArtReach’s in-classroom programs run smoothly across San Diego County.
Angela leads the coordination of all supply logistics for the Residency Program and helps train Teaching Artists on the systems and routines that make residencies impactful. She cares deeply about building a collaborative team culture based on preparation and support. Angela got her start in arts education while earning her B.A. in Visual Arts at UC San Diego, where she led youth workshops at the New Children’s Museum that encouraged kids to explore their ideas in supportive, inclusive spaces. She believes that the curiosity, creativity, and confidence built through artmaking are skills that last far beyond the classroom. When she’s not at ArtReach, Angela loves baking on a whim, crazy hot yoga, rewatching movies, and finding ways to get her family & friends together.
