Cindy Velline brings a variety of visual art education experience to ArtReach that includes teaching and administration. She has taught at all grade levels in large urban settings, rural communities as well as virtually in California, Iowa, Minnesota, and Kansas. Cindy also served as the San Diego Unified School District Visual Arts Resource Specialist. Her responsibilities included modeling instruction, planning teacher workshops, creating curriculum, coordinating the annual district art exhibition and developing community partnerships with local museums, arts organizations and artists.

She enthusiastically encourages students to put forth their best efforts as they develop their own form of creative expression using a variety of media. Her instruction supports the belief that art provides multiple ways to experience, understand and express the world and our relationship to it.

Cindy resides in North Park, the community where her husband grew up. When she is not teaching, she is busy in the art studio, exploring thrift shops, and enjoying the outdoors with family, friends and several rescue dogs.
