Ian Stiles-Mikl

Mural Program Facilities Coordinator
he/him

Ian began his journey with the ArtReach Mural Program in 2023 as a volunteer after attending a Community Paint Day for a mural being created on his own street. That experience led to a role as a mural assistant, and in 2024, he officially joined the team as the Mural Program Facilities Coordinator, bringing with him a strong studio foundation, and a passion for public art. He holds a BFA with an emphasis in Painting from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.

Before joining ArtReach, Ian gained a diverse range of experience working at a large format print shop managing projects and installations, serving as a customer care manager at a 3D printing company, and spending meaningful time as a stay at home dad to his two kids.

In his role, Ian brings a strong technical background in materials and site-specific logistics. He supports every stage of the mural making process with a focus on the technical side to mural making. This includes, but isn’t limited to, conducting site visits, creating to-scale wall templates for artist partners, designing murals, color matching and mixing custom paint, packing and maintaining materials, and photographing completed projects. He enjoys the energy and joy that people of all ages bring to community and student paint days, and he believes that public art can build connections, reflect local culture, and bring beauty to the spaces we share every day.

Outside of ArtReach, Ian enjoys hiking and going to the beach with his family, playing ice hockey, and working on personal artwork.
