Regan Russell is an Asian-American multi-disciplinary artist from San Diego, CA. He began his career creating realistic pencil drawings and digital portrait paintings. His artwork has evolved to intertwine traditional mediums and bright palettes with woodworking, murals, and design. In his latest body of work, Regan fashions “portal paintings”—colorful, wood-framed graphic landscapes that feature open doorways to places unknown. Beams of energy and searching clouds enter and exit portals as a reminder we are all on an unpredictable journey of defining ourselves and it’s ok to embrace what we don’t understand.
