Leah Eria is a Filipino-American artist and art educator born and raised in Southeast San Diego, CA. Their journey as an artist began the moment they were old enough to hold a pencil. As a young person in love with cartoons, anime and video games, they found comfort, joy, and community through creating and sharing art with others who felt the same. Now as an adult, they continue to love drawing and to draw what they love. Leah primarily enjoys digital illustration, but dabbles in many mediums and crafts such as traditional drawing, handbuilding ceramics, sticker-making, collaging, more. They are open to any and all art forms and experimenting as much as they can.

Leah graduated from San Diego State University in 2020 with a B.A. in Art, and has been teaching in various K-12 education settings and art programs throughout San Diego County since 2021. She works to make art classes as fun, equitable, and accessible as possible for students and families. Leah found her love of working in the nonprofit sector in 2023 at A Reason To Survive (ARTS) in National City, returning to the community she grew up in to give back and provide free after-school art classes to students of the National School District’s REACH program. In addition, they provide art instruction for intersession camps with Chula Vista School District’s LEAD program and for other residencies partnered with ARTS. At ArtReach, Leah continues to serve the National School District and other school locations across San Diego county. A firm believer that everyone has the ability to be an artist, Leah strives to cultivate a love for creating art and exploring one’s own creativity, especially in those who may have lost their spark or never gave themselves a chance.
